My name is Laura aka Vision blessings and i am 40 years old , Mother of 3 children.
14 years ago my bother-in-law while on drugs was trying to burn our house down. He was angry...he was trying to drive away with his 2 year old daughter and knowing the state of mind he was in I refused.I handed her though a window to my mother and my mother closed the window and locked the doors as i tried to hold him back from getting into the house...he beat me with a hammer and when i was down on the ground he stood on my neck and poured gas into my eyes and he dropped a cigarette to my face and all i remember is tremendous pain .
He ran off and my mother could only watch as she called the police in fear that the baby would end up in his arms .. she waited until she knew he was gone before coming outside...next thing i remember is someone rinsing my eyes .. and my mother says Oh Lord help my baby...when i woke up in the hospital room ....and was told that my eye lens were burned and they did not know if i would be able to see again,,
My heart sank my daughter was 4years old and my 1st son was only 2...i had not idea how i was going to get though all this and what i was going to do . My eyes lids were burned away and my hair burned to my back i had 7 stitches where my chin was busted open by the hammer and a smashed larynx and it was hard to talk...i was lucky in one thing the hair that fell against my face as he poured gas on my face protected my skin because the gas did not burn long...but my eyes were a mess...i could not see at all of months....and i fell into a deep depression for some time.
I thought oh Lord why???. my life is over....
For months i went though a healing process and surgery after surgery..
My husband turned to another women at this time and i was getting little to no help inthe house..he said i was worthless to him. I just plugged along... during this time i began to speak tot he lord. I took my dog and got to the woods behind my house and would sit for hours praying. Lord what would u want me to do. and it was clear. I am to seek the Lord in all things no matter how far i go to always remember God,s Love covers me and he will be my strength always...
In June of 1999 i was told i had a brain stem tumor. I had lost almost all my hearing and ability to walk and talk or even swallow .. i had a stomach tube for some time and when i was near death the Lord came to me in a dream and said Laura I love you , stop trying to do it all yourself. let me be your guild and let me help you. I want to bless you my daughter, trust me.. take my hand and i will walk you though. for i hear your cries to me inthe night and i will bless you. I will reach down and i will pull you up.. I stood on the word and begin to speak myself well in Jesus name. 4 years later i speak,walk, and hear again. though my eyes still are the same i bless the lord with all that is within me.
Today it is 14 years later and I live alone with my 3 kids Angela 18 Matthew 12 and Nate is 16..... It is hard for me to see. because of the eye damage i see every thing blurry like looking though tearful eyes.But i live minute by minute. I now have a job and i have a few friends that help me out..
See no matter what life deals you youhave to do your best with what you have,,, I am not bitter . I forgive as Jesus forgave me
Though my husband left me and life has changed i live each day as full as possible.
Try to show the Lord love to all I meet and some day i will see again in the fullest light of my savior Jesus Christ.
